“Loudness, fear and danger in catchy rocksongs”, that’s Scare the Bear. The alternative-rock oriented sound build by the band is solid and maintains its structural integrity, despite the use of widely varied building blocks. “Our songwriting strategy? We don’t have one”, according to ex-punk frontman Frank Doesburg. A strong, yet rocking foundation is formed by electro-oriented drummer Paul Beentjes and pile driven into the ground with grooving melodies from Milo Lambers (bass). Lead guitarist Erik van Ishoven adds deeper, effects-rich layers to the overall sound. This, combined with growling vocals from the frontman and energetic stage performance, creates predatory soundwaves to be reckoned with.
He better run.
